About the proposal

Hauraki District Council has lodged an application with Waikato Regional Council for the renewal of discharge consents associated with Waihi Wastewater Treatment Plant. This application is to replace existing consents with a term of seven (7) years.

Consent application APP144298 was lodged with Waikato Regional Council on 24/02/2022.

This application includes an assessment of environmental effects. Activities are as follows:

Activity 2: 144298.02.01 Discharge up to 4000 cubic metres per day of treated effluent into an unnamed tributary of the Ohinemuri River
Activity 3: 144298.03.01 Discharge contaminants to air from the operation of oxidation ponds and associated activities related to the treatment of wastewater
