Te Arawa River Iwi Trust Joint Management Committee

The Committee is responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of the Joint Management Agreement (JMA) between Te Arawa River Iwi Trust and Waikato Regional Council.

It provides a shared mechanism for joint decision-making, upholds the principles set out in clause 4 of the JMA, and gives effect to the guardianship provisions established under the Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Raukawa, and Te Arawa River Iwi Waikato River Act 2010.

The Committee works collaboratively to oversee agreed responsibilities, support integrated management of the Waikato River and related activities, and maintain a strong co-governance partnership.
