Candidate statement

My principal place of residence is in the Waikato General Constituency area.

As your current Waikato Regional Council Chair, I’ve delivered collaborative, effective leadership that puts communities first. Over the past three years, I’ve championed sustainable progress, advancing critical infrastructure, empowering rural communities, safeguarding natural resources, and working to keep rates fair.

I’ve worked alongside farmers and residents to ensure your voices shape our future. I’ve improved public transport, including better bus and Te Huia train services so residents can access jobs, education, and social connections, and secured significant government investment in vital flood management projects (four in our constituency) to boost resilience to extreme weather.

My focus remains on building strong, connected communities, supporting a sustainable future for agriculture, and protecting our environment for future generations.
