Call for applications: Catchment committee community appointees

Waikato Regional Council spends $62 million each year protecting Waikato communities from flooding and soil erosion, and working with landowners on riparian planting, enhancing our biodiversity and combating plant and animal pests.

To help us tailor our work programmes, we’ve divided the region into eight zones. Each zone has its own catchment committee, and among the members are community appointees who serve in an advisory capacity.

Who we're looking for

We’re looking for enthusiastic people who:

  • have good relevant networks, and the ability to use them to inform catchment committee discussion and relate the outcomes to communities
  • have relevant experience such as being on the board or being a member of a community group involved in environmental work
  • have an interest or experience in areas such as river management, pest control, promoting biodiversity, soil health, land management and/or coastal issues
  • are wanting to contribute in a positive way to the work we do in our communities.
