Rugby fans wanting to go to the Air New Zealand Cup home games at the Waikato Stadium this season can leave their cars at home.

Environment Waikato is putting on a special stadium shuttle service from central Hamilton to the Waikato Stadium for the Waikato home games. The stadium shuttle will run:

  • this Friday, 11 August for Waikato v Canterbury (7.35pm)
  • Saturday, 26 August for the clash between Waikato v Counties-Manukau (5.30pm)
  • Saturday, 9 September for Waikato v Northland (2.35pm)

The shuttle leaves every 10 minutes for one hour before the game, travelling from Knox Street, up Victoria Street to the stadium and returns to town after the final whistle.

Fares cost $1.40 (adult), 70 cents (child) with a BUSIT! Card - or $2 (adult) and $1 (child) cash.

Anyone wanting to get to the game can take any city bus into town and catch the stadium shuttle for free with the two-hour free transfer (Note: Travel must be completed within two hours of original ticket purchase time. Remember to hold on to your ticket to redeem your transfer).

After the game the city’s Night Rider network is a great option to get home.
