Rugby fans wanting to go to the Chiefs’ home games at the Waikato Stadium this season can leave their cars at home.

Environment Waikato is putting on a special BUSIT! shuttle service from central Hamilton to the Waikato Stadium for the Chiefs’ home games to take the hassle out of getting to the rugby.

The stadium shuttle will run this Friday (3 March) for the Chiefs v the Reds. It will also run on 10 March for the clash between the Chiefs and the Crusaders, 1 April for the Chiefs v the Highlanders, 8 April for the Chiefs v the Bulls, 21 April for the Chiefs v the Cheetahs and 6 May for the Chiefs v the Waratahs.

The shuttle will also be running on 18 March for the Vodafone Warriors v the Parramatta Eels game and on 10 June for the All Blacks v Ireland.

The shuttle bus will depart from the corner of Hood and Anglesea streets outside the Knox Street car park, leaving every 10 minutes for an hour before the game. (All Chiefs games kick off at 7.35pm, with the exception of the Bulls game, which kicks off at 5.30pm). The shuttle will stop at all bus stops around the route, located on Victoria Street, Ulster Street, Mill Street, Norton Road, London Street, Anglesea Street, Alexandra Street, Hood Street and Knox Street on its way to and from the stadium.

After the game finishes, buses will depart immediately from the corner of Norton Road and Mill Street.

The stadium shuttle is free to bus users with a valid same-day ticket to town.
An adult ticket costs $1.40 with a BUSIT! card, or $2 for those paying by cash.
