Planting field day on Lake Cameron

Environment Waikato and the Department of Conservation are organising a field day at Lake Cameron, Rukuhia next month on riparian planting around lakes.

The field day, which is open to everyone, is to be held on Thursday, December 7. It will provide information and discussion on planning riparian planting, what to plant where and why, riparian maintenance and plant propagation. The day will be held on the shores of Lake Cameron at the end of the walking track from 10am to 12pm, with a lunch to follow. If the day is wet the session will be held at the Rukuhia Hall.

The aim is to help landowners design practical solutions for lake riparian management. Anyone who is interested in attending should contact Linda Fell an Environment Waikato's Freephone 0800 800 401 by December 4.
