Maori student receives second council scholarship

Waikato University student Stacey Kanui has been presented with her second $2000 Environment Waikato Maori Scholarship.

Stacey, a third year Bachelor of Social Science student majoring in resource management and environmental planning and geography, also won the scholarship last year. The scholarship was set up in 1991 to mark the 25th anniversary of Dame Te Ata Irangikaahu.

It is awarded on merit to up to two Maori students undertaking resource management courses at Waikato University. Stacey intends to continue on to do her Masters in resource management and environmental planning and wants to work in an area dealing with environmental issues.
