A Landcare Networking Field Day is being held just north of Hamilton on Wednesday 6 April to discuss community-based environmental initiatives.

The event has been organised by Environment Waikato, Waikato District Council and the Kainui Lake Management Committee.

Beginning at 9.30am, the event will start off at the Horsham Downs Hall near Kainui Lake.

The primary objective of the day is for landcare and other community groups to share information on their programmes and the issues they face. EW sustainable agriculture coordinator Bala Tikkisetty said the networking days were a very useful way of swapping ideas and experiences. “Landcare and other community groups play a key role in protecting the environment in the Waikato.”
