Landcare and other community groups working to protect Waikato’s environment are holding a Landcare Networking Field Day in Raglan next month.

The event is being organized by Waikato Regional Council in conjunction with Whaingaroa Harbour Care.

“The primary objective of this field day is to enable representatives from each landcare group and other community groups to discuss current issues affecting their areas and to develop an understanding of each others’ work,” said council sustainable agriculture coordinator Bala Tikkisetty.

The event will be at the Sunset Motel conference hall at 7 Bankart St on Tuesday 6 May, running from 9.30am to 3.30pm. Lunch will be provided.

The afternoon will include visits to plantings and stream monitoring sites, and a fish monitoring demonstration.

A minibus for those wanting transport will leave Waikato Regional Council in Hamilton at 8.30am.

For more information or to book at seat on the minibus contact Bala Tikkisetty (bala.tikkisetty@waikatoregion.govt.nz) or Megan Pritchard (megan.pritchard@waikatoregion.govt.nz) via email or call 0800 800 401.
