The region's transport affects people's quality of life and our environment. Motor vehicles are the single largest source of air pollution in New Zealand. A well planned transport system can reduce air pollution and increase public safety.
The indicators below tell us about how much we use private and public transport, the types of transport used and the environmental effects of transport in the Waikato region.
